What we've done.

Take a look at some examples of the fine work we've been commissioned to produce for our clients.

Expro are a leading name in the oil and gas industry. From their site in Cumbria, they develop and manufacture some of the most advanced technology for electrical connection and measurement in the world. We’ve been working closely with them during the build of a new, state-of-the-art, multi-million pound facility. We’ve been helping them to make a shout about their commitment to Excellence in Operations - a message which has rung out loud and clear around the world.

It’s great when you get to work with a client who shares similar values to those you hold dear. So when Expro started talking to us about raising the bar and striving for excellence, we knew we’d be talking the same language.

They had grand designs: to produce a film which would showcase the new, state-of-the-art facility they were constructing. After a visit to the site, we were struck by the sheer scale of the place, and the meticulous attention to detail - every aspect of the building’s design had been painstakingly planned to aid their manufacturing operations.

Bringing this place to life on screen was going to be a major challenge, but one we were confident we could rise to. We started to put our process into action.

First step: we worked with their team to develop a script. We choose our words carefully - to convey the technical innovations in the building and the improvements they’d be bringing.

Next, we started thinking about how we were going to do justice to the scale of the building. The sheer size is awe-inspiring when you first see inside. We knew that static camera shots weren’t going to do it justice. So we embarked on some steadycam training pretty sharpish, so that our cameras would seem to fly through the building.

Filming on an active construction site could have been a health and safety nightmare, but our experience in planning and risk assessment meant that we were given unprecedented freedom.

Expro are a global business, and their products are used in some of the most far-flung, severe environments in the world. We put our motion graphics expertise to work, to express the sheer scale of their operations.

We used a mixture of aerial photography and construction drawings to create sequences which not only look beautiful, but also serve a narrative purpose.

We also used slick animations to describe some of the technical aspects of the new building - like our representation of the manufacturing process as it flows through the building.

All of these graphical elements are an example of how we wield our digital tools to create visuals which both dazzle and inform. From conception to production, our work is always laced with flourishes of professionalism.

With all of the constituent parts gathered, we hunkered down in our edit suite to weave together the final product.

Our careful planning process is designed to make sure that post-production is a creative and considered affair. And this project was a perfect example of where our forward-thinking allowed our creativity to be let loose.

And with some carefully chosen music, and a script voiced by one of Channel 4's continuity announcers, the video really started to sing.

The film was intended to be seen by Expro's diverse customer base. The simple solution would have been to follow convention and produce a run of DVDs, drop them in the post and then cross fingers in the hope that they would be watched.

But there was a problem with that idea: people are busy, and would anybody sit down and lend their eyes to yet another promotional disc? We needed to think a little differently.

Expro wanted their customers to share in their success. This film was celebrating an exciting time in the company's history, and they wanted customers to join in that celebration.

So what better way to connect with them than with a modest gift. Whereas a DVD or CD-Rom is destined to be watched once and then disposed of, this film would be delivered on media which was re-usable and had a life beyond viewing.

The film was pre-loaded onto customised, branded USB memory sticks, which were designed to automatically play the film when they were first inserted into a computer. After that, the recipient was free to use the generous drive space to store and transfer their own files.

It was the perfect solution, which formed the basis of a personalised mailing to over 1,000 customers and clients.

We love producing intelligent solutions like this. Convention is a wonderful thing, but we're never afraid to think in new and innovative ways when it comes to helping our clients market themselves in this digital age.

We helped Expro connect with their customers around the world, through the use of our rigourous planning, creative thinking, skilled production and an unwavering attention to detail.
