Get North
North is a programme of events and activities aimed at inspiring creative professionals to do things differently.
The first main event is called Rule of Thirds, and it’ss taking place in South Cumbria in October 2009.
Our intention is to bring together creative people from a range of disciplines to share, learn and debate. We’re really interested in exploring innovative approaches, creative workflows and new forms of collaboration.
Throughout the day we’ll be exploring a challenging array of subjects through speaker presentations, open debate and group exploration.
We recently put out a call for submissions – inviting inspiring people to come and talk about subjects of their choosing. We had a fantastic response, and we’re busy finalising the shortlist.

North is a project which we’re developing in partnership with folly as part of the Abandon Normal Devices festival.
Abandon Normal Devices (AND) is a cross-regional festival of new cinema and digital culture that spills from screens and galleries into the streets and imaginations of the Northwest. It is a festival that questions the normal and champions a different approach via an energetic programme of screenings, exhibitions, debate and performances.
